ASPIRE - Promoting Education and Opportunity

November Wyoming EOC Student of the Month

November Wyoming EOC Student of the Month
shantelShantel Wheeler is a 20 year EOC participant that attended college one semester after high school but left college as she wasn’t able to work full-time and carry a 19 credit load at college.  She was offered a promotion at work and felt at the time that work had to be her focus.  She has worked full-time at Wal-Mart since she was 16 years old and was promoted to Customer Service Manager at age 19 which made her the youngest CSM at Wal-Mart.  She believes she has a calling to be a school counselor and made the decision that she must go back to college to get her degree.  She will be going only part-time as to not overload herself like last time as she will still need to work full-time to support herself.  Shantel has made the first big step into making college a priority in her life!
