Wyoming Educational Access Day 2015 – we had 44 people in attendance (TRiO students, GEAR UP students & TRiO/GEAR UP staff). We had a full day scheduled for the students – visit to House & Senate (we were fortunate enough to be introduced in both), meeting and proclamation with Governor Mead, program with Wyoming Department of Education, meeting with Wyoming Equality State Policy Center, meeting and proclamation with Mayor of Cheyenne, program presentation by Serve Wyoming, and much more!
We also reserved $100.00 to award a scholarship to one high school senior or postsecondary student who was in attendance yesterday – students will be writing an essay and submitting scholarship applications by the end of February.
