In order to achieve this mission, <\/strong><strong>four strategic goals have been established.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>State Leadership:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Annually coordinate logistics of professional development for the state meetings.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Develop clear expectations for Emerging Leaders Institute to include but not limited to: registration process, faculty, enrollment and member responsibilities.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Initiate a committee structure for the completion of tasks in the Strategic Plan.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide \u2018financial\u2019 resources for state president to attend ASPIRE board meeting and policy seminar.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Increase personal and business partnerships by 10% biannually.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Partnerships developed with other state associations for development initiatives training and networking.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Keep website updated, state Fact book on annual basis more use of social media.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Work with alumni to create a North Dakota TRIO Alumni Association.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Will provide students and alumni with opportunities to gain a better understanding of Trio.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Financially support students and alumni to attend and advocate for TRIO as part of Policy Seminar, annually by Trio Directors<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Regular updates for website, Fact Book, Facebook.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>State Initiative:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Increase personal and business partnerships by 10% biannually.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Lead the membership in legislative advocacy efforts through communication and professional development. (With Professional Development Committee; Train membership and leadership to best advocate for students and programs through (policy preparation and training, regional\/state)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Engage students and alumni in legislative initiatives and other advocacy opportunities.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Facilitate communication and awareness of current issues (legislation, regulations, DOE) More visibility and commitment from campuses.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Contact with legislators.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>\u00a0Professional Development Committee<\/strong>:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Develop and disseminate a needs assessment to ASPIRE members. Tabulate results to determine training needs and preferences of ASPIRE Members attending state conferences.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Identify 2 models of training for professional development.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Annually develop targeted learning opportunities for each program area (5) while addressing the needs of the seasoned professionals and professionals new to ND ASPIRE.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Coordinate logistics of professional development activities for the state meetings.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide educational\/training opportunities for ND ASPIRE program participants inclusive of students, Trio members and Professionals.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Train membership and leadership to best advocate for students and programs through (policy preparation and training, regional\/state.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>Alumni Committee:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Annually recognize a ND State Trio Achiever.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Explore pro\/con of utilizing social media (such as Facebook and Twitter) to promote programs to current students, alumni, and other TRIO organizations.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Regular updates for website, Fact Book, Facebook.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Offer Alumni opportunities to become a member of ASPIRE.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Membership Committee:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Annually coordinate logistics of professional development for the state meetings.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Maintain membership level of 80% of eligible TRIO professionals in North Dakota. Membership Committee reports status at state meetings 2xp\/year.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strive for 90% of Trio programs to purchase project memberships<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Annually encourage student memberships with the state ASPIRE organization.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Annually work with alumni to create a North Dakota TRIO Alumni Association.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>On a Quarterly basis communicate benefits, needs and opportunities of ASPIRE membership.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Increase communication with the membership on issues related to activities that ensure continued existence (website, state conferences, and email).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<strong>Development Committee:<\/strong>\r\n\r\nAnnually work to gain more funding for North Dakota ASPIRE.\r\n\r\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"[vc_row pix_particles_check=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]North Dakota ASPIRE\u2019s mission is to \u201cincrease the educational and success opportunities for low-income and first-generation college students through professional development and legislative advocacy\u201d.
