HB 1043 (TUITION FREEZE)<\/th>\r\nWould prohibit increases in tuition rates at two-year institutions under the control of the state board of higher education.<\/th>\r\nIn House Appropriations<\/th>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1233 (TUITION FREEZE)<\/td>\r\nWould prohibit tuition increases at four-year institutions under the control of the state board of higher education.<\/td>\r\nIn House Appropriations<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1303 (TUITION RATES)<\/td>\r\nWould allow the Legislature to set tuition for all North Dakota University System institutions<\/td>\r\nPassed in the House, now goes to the Senate<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1044 (STATE LONGITUDINAL DATA SYSTEM)<\/td>\r\nWould require that the ND State Longitudinal Data System be used to compile college graduation rates for students who received the ND Acad\/Career & Technical Merit Scholarships<\/td>\r\nIn House Appropriations<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1452 (GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS)<\/td>\r\nCreates an entirely new fund for Promise Grants — these would essentially replace the ND Acad & Tech. Merit Scholarship with a larger and more sustainable funding source. The bill doesn’t specify where the funds shall come from, only that they are appropriated by the legislature into a special fund with interest reapplied to the Promise Grant principle. It would use same eligibility requirements of 3.0 GPA & a 24 ACT .<\/td>\r\nIn House Education<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1419 (GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS)<\/td>\r\nWould change eligibility for the ND Acad. Merit & Career\/Tech Merit Scholarship by removing the ACT score as a mechanism for eligibility and changing the high school GPA requirement from 3.0 to 2.5<\/td>\r\nIn House Education<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1413 (GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS)<\/td>\r\nCreates a scholarship program for veterans. ( $15 M appropriation )<\/td>\r\nIn House Education<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SB 2288 (GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS)<\/td>\r\nRelates to development & operation of a “gap scholarship” through collaboration of NDUS & Bank of ND. It is designed to give more relief to middle income families by reducing student need after federal and state aid has been subtracted. ($5 M appropriation )<\/td>\r\nIn Senate Education<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SB 2165 (GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS)<\/td>\r\nRelating to the allocation of resources at the time of a child’s birth. (5000 at birth for later postsecondary education, home purchases or to start a business.)<\/td>\r\nUnanimous DO PASS from House Vets Affairs, up for vote by full House<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1049 (LOAN FORGIVENESS)<\/td>\r\nEducation loan forgiveness for certain behavioral health professionals on loans through the Bank of North Dakota and other participating lenders. ($200 K appropriation )<\/td>\r\nIn House Human Services Cmte.<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SB 2162 (LOAN FORGIVENESS)<\/td>\r\nForgiveness of any outstanding education loans for certain social workers and licensed addiction counselors working for the state in high need areas. ($360, 000)<\/td>\r\nIn Senate Human Services<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SB 2281 (TUITION REDUCTION)<\/td>\r\nRelating to tuition reduction and an income tax credit for child care providers and certain members of their families.<\/td>\r\nIn Senate Finance & Taxation<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SB 2344 (LEGACY FUND)<\/td>\r\nWould create a Legacy Fund Foundation to oversee the Legacy Fund and develop priorities for its use<\/td>\r\nIn Senate Gov. & Vets Affairs<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
SCR 4014 (LEGACY FUND)<\/td>\r\nCalls for an interim study on uses for the Legacy Fund.<\/td>\r\nIn Senate Gov. & Vets Affairs<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
HB 1261 ( HIGHER EDUCATION OPEN EDUC.
