Fortunately, I had lots of guidance and encouragement. I had met Rebecca Moncur from the EOC Program while trying to help my son get enrolled at Northwest College. She encouraged me to apply to college and for financial aid. Admitted to college and with money on the way, panic hit! I had not been in school in so long and things had changed so much. I applied to Project Succeed at Northwest College and found the resources I needed to be a successful college student. I attended topic sessions, financial workshops, and many cultural events. This helped me understand college life and meet other students in the TRIO program. I graduated, as an Honor Student, with my AA in Elementary Education from Northwest College in December 2010. I am currently attending the University of Wyoming to complete my BA degree. I am filled with gratitude for Cindy, Elaine, Lisa, Jerilyn, at NWC and my current Student Success Advisor, Rita, at UW for all they have done to help me become a successful student. I will graduate in May 2013 with my BA in Elementary Education and ESL endorsement.<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In the fall of 2009 I was ready to finish my degree in Elementary Education and wasn’t sure where to begin or how to proceed.
