Sunday October 11th, 9am-4:30pm. Register before September 18th! MHFA teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills that you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. What MHFA Covers • Common signs and symptoms of mental illness • Common signs and symptoms of substance abuse • How to interact with a person in crisis • How to connect someone with help • Newly added: Expanded content on trauma, addiction, and self-care The blended learning option consists of participants completing a 2-hour self-paced online course (you will receive materials prior to coming to the conference to complete the online portion, followed by a 5.5 hour in-person skills application instructor-led session. The self-paced online course must be completed prior to attending the in-person skills application session. Both sessions must be completed to obtain a 3 year adult MHFA certification.
